Astrophytum ornatum subsp. mirabelli – 3-inch

Astrophytum ornatum subspecies mirabelli is a beautiful plant that has very dense flecking when young. As the plant grows and stretches, the flecking becomes more diffuse, revealing more of the green body. Occasionally the flecking will create an intriguing V-pattern  or “Chevron” stripes as seen in the larger, potted plant in the gallery.
