Description
Agave cerulata subspecies nelsonii hails from the central part of the state of Baja California. In habitat, this is an offsetting species with individual rosettes reaching about 20-30 inches across and clustering to 3-4 feet across. Thick, gray-green leaves are long lanceolate to triangular-lanceolate. Plants are relatively cold hardy in the desert southwest, reportedly tolerating a winter low of about 20 degrees F in the hot, low elevation desert region around Phoenix.
