Agave shawii ssp. goldmaniana – 3 inch

Agave shawii ssp. goldmaniana is a large plant with rosettes reaching 3-4 feet across. The plants are hardy to at least the mid-20’s once established and can take full sun even in the desert southwest. They are slow growing and can remain in a large container for several years. Place them in the ground if you live in a region with the appropriate climate, and watch them grow wild!

Agave shawii ssp. goldmaniana is native to Baja California and is an absolutely stunning plant. It develops a large rosette up to 3-4 feet across with rich green, sword-shaped leaves. This subspecies will tolerate the summer heat and the summer rainy season of the desert southwest better than its close relative A. shawii subsp. shawii. In time the plants develop long, reclining trunks and large clusters by the production of axillary branching.
