Description

Astrophytum myriostigma is a highly variable species which has led to a plethora of variety names that pit lumpers against splitters. We like the fact that many of the forms tend to retain the characteristic that led to them receiving names which, in theory, make it easier to obtain all the different types. For now though, ours are more in line with the “typical” form. That is the plants have moderately dense flecking on the fat, 5-ribbed body that is topped by the small, light yellow flowers throughout the summer. Some of the other named forms that we are beginning to grow include:

A. myriostigma var. columnare

A. myriostigma var. strongylogonum

A. myriostigma var. quadricostatum

Each of these is worth having in your collection, and we will list them as they become available, so stay in touch!
