Description

Echinocereus viereckii subspecies morricalii hails from near Horsetail Falls south of sprawling megalopolis of Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. New growth has very short spines that nearly disappear as the stems get larger. When grown in pots the plants will occasionally have a stem or two die back but I have not had this occur to plants in the ground in Tucson.
