Description
Thelocactus conothelos subsp. argenteus looks like Thelocactus macdowellii but they are slightly larger plants with more central spines (4-6 versus 2-4). The plants are densely covered with white or silvery white spines that obscure the body. Two-inch wide, magenta flowers are produced near the top of the plant. These grow on limestone hills in Nuevo Leon.
