Description

Turbinicarpus swobodae is native to the state of Nuevo Leon in northeastern Mexico and is found growing in cracks in limestone rock. Young plants have long, triangular tubercles and look superficially like Turbinicarpus alonsoi, but are considered to be in a different group within the genus. Small, yellow flowers, about one-half inch in diameter appear in summer.
