Description
Fouquieria macdougalii is frequently called Sonoran Tree Ocotillo due to its short trunk with peeling bark and highly branched, tree-like stature. The bright red flowers are similar to those of F. splendens and are a great hummingbird magnet. Plants are drought tolerant, frost hardy, have a moderate growth rate, and make great potted specimens.
