Yucca queretaroensis


Perhaps the most beautiful Yucca species, it has a tall trunk and a round head of very narrow, flexible leaves. Leaves are variable width when young, but get narrower as the plant ages.

Yucca queretaroensis was described  in 1989 and develops a tall trunk atop which sit a nearly perfect ball of numerous, skinny, flexible leaves that shimmy in the slightest breeze. Although from the states of Queretaro and Hidalgo in central Mexico, plants have been hardy to mid-teens F in Texas. Seed grown plants show much leaf variability when young, but as the plant ages, leaves change to the adult form.
