Description
Agave convallis was described by Willam Trelease in 1920 and then included in with Agave kerchovei by Howard Scott Gentry in 1982. In 2011, Abisai Garcia-Mendoza restored this to species status and it is now recognized as a valid species. In horticulture, this has been mistakenly been called Agave titanota ‘Tamazulapan Red’ by some. However, it is completely distinct from Agave titanota and is much more closely related to Agave kerchovei from which it differs in size, leaf shape, leaf thickness, marginal teeth, and rosette density. This is an attractive plant with rich green leaves and small marginal teeth.
