Description
Agave striata is a Chihuahuan Desert native that is quite sun and drought tolerant. This one has numerous, very skinny, needle-like leaves that form a nearly perfect sphere on mature plants. Leaf color will vary from light yellowish green to medium green, gray green, silvery or even purplish red. Leaves do not have noticeable teeth, but the edges are serrated so pet them very gently. While the individual rosettes reach about 1.5-2 feet in diameter, they offset and will form large clusters to 4-6 feet across.
