Thelocactus macdowellii

Description

Thelocactus macdowellii is from a limited area between Saltillo and Monterrey in northeastern Mexico. The plant body is obscured by the thin, white spines. Pinkish magenta flowers appear in spring. This species differs from Thelocactus conothelos subsp. argenteus by the lack of areolar glands.
